Regain your peace of mind and well-being

What is anxiety?

Anxiety is a feeling that manifests both physical and psychological, in response to a situation of threat or stress, wether real or imagined.

Most people have experienced anxiety at some point in their lives. Feeling anxious occasionally does not necessarily require therapy, but if it becomes recurrent and starts affecting your work, social, or personal life, it may be the right time to consult a professional.

Anxiety levels

Anxiety can manifest at different levels, from mild reactions and specific problems to more severe panic attacks.

Not everyone experiences anxiety in the same way. Some manifestations of anxiety are:

Anxiety symptoms

Psychological symptoms:

  • Worry about the future

  • A feeling that something negative will happen

  • Difficulty concentrating

  • Irritability

  • Nervousness

  • A sense of overwhelm

Physical symptoms:

  • Muscle tension

  • Sleep problems

  • Difficulty breathing

  • Chest tightness

  • Palpitations

  • Nausea or fatigue

Monitor your anxiety levels

It is crucial to seek help early to address anxiety, as it can worsen and lead to other complications, such as:

Agoraphobia

Intense fear or anxiety about being outside home alone.

It cans also manifest in enclosed or open spaces with crowds, such as public transportation, elevators, cinemas, or concerts.

Social anxiety

The person feels exposed to the evaluation of others, whether in social interactions or when feeling watched and judged. A fear arises of acting in a way that makes the anxiety evident, which can lead to being judged, embarrassed, and/or humiliated. For this reason, those who suffer from social anxiety often begin to isolate themselves from their surroundings and avoid social settings.

Panic attack

A sudden onset of intense fear or discomfort that escalates quickly. It often includes physical symptoms such as palpitations, muscle tension, difficulty breathing, and a feeling of suffocation. Psychologically, there may be sensations of unreality, fear of dying, or losing control.

Professional consultation

If you feel that your anxiety is affecting your quality of life or has reached concerning levels, it is time to consult a professional to receive the necessary support and improve your well-being.
